Long road trip? Satellite Poker!

Gambling is a free world in the sense that any person in any social class can partake. However, there are bigger and lucrative tournaments with huge payouts. Needless to say; the bigger the wins the higher the buy-ins. The annual Las Vegas World Series of Poker (WSOP) is but an example. So how can you gain access to play in such a big event?

That’s where satellite poker tournaments come in play. These are basically an event to another bigger and better one, typically with a higher buy-in. A satellite poker tournament, therefore, has a smaller buy-in, which offers many budget gambling enthusiasts an incentive to play. The winner is normally awarded a ticket to a bigger poker competition. Consider the following example:

If 5 poker players come together around a table, each with a focus of partaking in a bigger poker contest with a buy-in of $2,000, it means that each of them must bet $400 dollars. Once the winner is determined, s/he walks away with $2,000-worth of a ticket to the big event.

Top Tips on How to Use Satellite Tournaments to Big Poker Competitions

Luckily, the doors to the big buy-in events aren’t fully closed to the budget gambler, as satellite poker (whether single- or multi-table) offer opportunities to step up to the big stage. Poker-Rakeback gives you great tips to help you excel at the satellite level.

Select a Satellite with Many Seats

It cannot be emphasized the increased winning opportunities that a satellite with many seats offers. Unlike most luck-driven tournaments available with other online sites, satellite poker offer a real chance of winning. If not, players can also win by outlasting their fellow contestants. If the buy-in is significant but manageable, a win may mean the key to the next Main Event.

Play Tight to Avoid Risks

Whether it is a super-satellite, MMT or a sit-n-go you should always play tight. In a satellite, there is no need to have all your chips in play. That increases your risks. Playing cautiously in position minimizes risks while enabling you to pile up your chips.

Things to Do When You Have Car Wi-Fi

As technology advances so too do the Wi-Fi capabilities. Modern cars are able to use Wi-Fi and create a hotspot so that anyone within the car can get internet connectivity. With this new function, car journeys have been changed for the better, with many of the passengers able to while away the time performing some of their favourite online activities at their leisure.

There are a number of different ways to have Wi-Fi in the car. The easiest option is a MiFi, a wireless router that creates a hotspot within the car, though these must be paid for through a monthly provider. Some manufacturers have taken this one step further by making the car itself the tethering spot and thus a giant hotspot through its own system.

Whilst the driver themselves may be unable to partake of this new feature, they will reap some rewards in the fact that the car journey may be silent. Those travelling will children will find it easy to simply stream a movie for them for the duration of the journey. Alternatively, if they have a favourite game, this can be put on for them to play, giving them hours of amusement.

Another entertainment option is to access online gambling games. Online casinos are now so popular that they have made sure to be compatible with mobile devices. What better way to travel than to win some money en route to your destination. Players can also grab good bonus deals in this manner and can even learn some techniques and strategies on how to become a better player, which can be found here.

Alternatively, users can simply surf the internet for whatever they fancy, use social media, take Instagram photos or simply use it to read an online book. Whatever the entertainment, car Wi-Fi simply makes life easier.

Where to Get Snus Outside of Sweden

Snus is a niche tobacco-based chewing product that doesn’t require spitting. It’s steam-pasteurized, which makes it moist, and is widely used in Norway and Sweden, which are the only European countries in which it is legal. It’s sold primarily in these countries, as well as the Faroe Islands. It’s also used in Belarus and Russia, and has gained a growing popularity in the United States, although the production quality isn’t comparable to the way it’s manufactured in Europe.

Swedish snus made with air-dried ground tobacco is that is then mixed with water, sodium and an alkalizing agent, typically sodium carbonate. After it’s heated again, there are food grade aromas that are usually added to give it flavour. It’s sold in a loose variety, which comes in packets or portioned in tea-like bags that come in various sizes ranging from mini to maxi – normal is, as one would guess, in between. The mini portions are usually about 0.5 grams; the normal size is about 0.8 to one grams; while the maxi portions can range up to 1.5 grams.

Although purchasing snus can be difficult outside of the aforementioned countries, it is available online through sites which have a wide variety of products for snus connoisseurs.

While it’s still illegal to purchase it in most European states, there are ongoing debates and campaigns around making it legal, given its widespread use.

Snus first became popular in the 1600s in France and was initially used as a remedy for headaches by Catherine de’ Medici. It’s smokeless and is primarily used by placing it between the lips and gums for extended periods of time. The popularity of snus eventually spread to Sweden in the 17th century, and production began there in the 19th century. The oldest known brand that’s still sold today was registered in 1822, and to this day it’s widely enjoyed.

Ideas for Improving the Interior of a Car

While keeping the exterior of a car in good condition is important, it is the interior that an owner will see more of and making sure this is neat and comfortable for driving is sensible. There are a number of simple ideas that can be used to fix up the inside of a car so it looks its best and the following are a few to consider.

Cleaning the Seats

Seats can become dirty over time as a vehicle is used and cleaning them is a simple way to spruce up the look of a car interior. There are plenty of one-step spray and lotion cleaners specifically designed for leather seats and most of these also work to keep the material supple. Similarly there are products aimed at vinyl or cloth material, so that finding a cleaner for car seats is fairly straightforward. Using these regularly will help to keep seats in good condition and looking their best.

New Seat Covers

If seats become too worn that cleaning does not improve their look, it could be time to consider investing in new seat covers. This also provides the chance to completely change the interior appearance by opting for a new color or pattern. Universal covers are the more affordable option, with this style intended to fit the seats of a number of vehicle makes and models. A better fit can be obtained by choosing custom made covers although these are more expensive to purchase.

Cleaning Carpets

A lot of dirt, dust, and other debris can be brought into a car on shoes and end up on the floor. Vacuuming on a regular basis is therefore advisable, as is a more thorough cleaning of carpets occasionally. This can help to keep them in better condition and remove any unpleasant smells that a build-up of dirt can cause.

New Floor Mats

A simple idea to protect the carpets in a vehicle is to put in place car floor mats. These also make the floor easier to clean as much of the dirt can be lifted out by removing the mats to wash them. While many come in a basic black plastic, it is possible to find brighter colors or patterns and this is a simple way to add a little more style to the interior of a vehicle.

LED Lights

LED lights can be installed in a few locations inside a car to brighten up the look and they are typically available in a few different colors. They can also be a practical feature that provides some illumination at night. A more discreet option is to place one in the glove compartment to give some light when it is opened. Other options include installing them in the footwells, on the dashboard, or along the top of the windscreen.

Drivers can spend a lot of time sitting in their cars on a daily basis and making sure the interior is comfortable for this is common sense. The ideas above are some that can help improve the inside of a car, so that it is a pleasure to get in and set off on a journey.

How to Fix the Outside of Your Car By Yourself

Auto body work is one of the most popular do-it-yourself hobbies that countless car owners enjoy. From changing headlamps to buffing the surface to a mirror-like shine, there are a number of tasks which are easy to perform and that can be accomplished in a matter of hours. A brief review of some common repair tips can help you decide if you wish to become involved in this field.

Fixing Dents

The occasional unsightly dent is nearly impossible to avoid. Luckily, smaller imperfections can be removed with a suction device. This tool can be picked up at any local car care store. Two (or four) suction cups will attached to the surface around the dent while a larger one is placed over the dent itself. As the central cup is pulled away, the dent will be removed and in most cases, only a slight memory will remain.

Repairing a Windscreen

A minor chip in your windscreen can turn into a major problem very quickly. Any crack over a few centimetres long should be dealt with immediately. Once again, an auto supply store will offer repair kits which contain a specific resin that can be inserted into the crack. Once the resin dries and the excess is wiped away, it is likely that the chip will be completely invisible. This is a proactive way to avoid having to replace the entire windscreen in the future.

Deflating Tyres

If you note that you have to add air to a tyre regularly, it is likely that a pinhole puncture exists. First, visibly check the walls of the tyre as well as the treads. If you find an embedded foreign object such as a nail, a replacement is warranted. Still, you could see no visible signs of damage. In this case, purchase what is known as tyre foam. This foam is sprayed into the tyre via the same connection that you would normally use with pressurised air. This foam expands when it enters inside. When you drive, the centrifugal force of the tyre will cause the foam to stick to the inside tyre walls. In turn, most minor leaks can be sealed for a very long time. If you note that air is still being lost, it is always best to take the car to a repair shop.

These are three easy do-it-yourself tips that can save you a great deal of time and money. Most importantly, you do not have to possess a working knowledge of cars or boast a mechanical inclination to feel like a true repairman (or woman)!

How to Become a Mechanic

Mechanics, or motor vehicle technicians, are responsible for maintenance and repair of motor vehicles. This is most commonly cars, but can also include motorcycles, larger vehicles and even heavy machinery. With a consistent demand for qualified technicians, there is plenty of scope for work and career progression.

Training as a Mechanic

There are several routes into the profession including apprenticeships, higher education and even self-employment.

Currently, the most common way to become a mechanic is by taking up an apprenticeship in vehicle mechanics. In the UK, this will often require basic qualifications (typically GCSEs) in Maths, English and Science. Trainee mechanics can work for either dealerships, specialising on a particular make of car, or at independent garages where they come into contact with a wide variety of makes and models.

Apprentices get paid on the job, earning a stipend which is typically below the national minimum wage as the training provided represents a further costs to the employer doing the training. The training process can take anywhere from a few months to several years depending on the apprentice’s level of experience and desired specialism.

Higher Education

Another common path into the profession is to take automotive courses at a local college. Here are just a few of the courses offered by City and Guilds for automotive technicians:

  • Level 1 Certificate/Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance
  • Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Level 2 Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair
  • Level 3 Diploma in Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Principles

The benefit of training with a college over an apprenticeship is that you can often progress more quickly by receiving more comprehensive training faster that those doing apprenticeships. The downside is that you may have to pay for your training, and when you graduate, you won’t have the same “foot in the door” that apprentices already working with employers will have.

Becoming a Self-Employed Mechanic – Opening Your Own Garage

This is a less typical route into the industry, but one well worth considering if you already have a good deal of experience working in vehicle repair. Technically, automotive repair isn’t regulated in the same way that, say, driving heavy goods vehicles is regulated. Anyone can open up shop and start fixing cars, but there is obviously a bigger financial cost to becoming a mechanic in this way.

Self-employed mechanics can operate on their own premises or operate as mobile vehicle technicians. Being a mobile technician represents a smaller start up cost as you won’t need the space to house vehicles whilst you’re working on them, and you can even manage a home-based office. If you don’t have a level 3 qualification, then you can usually take a test from VOSA in order to become a registered MOT tester as well.

The biggest barrier to entry in this fashion is the upfront cost of diagnostic and repair equipment. If you have some relevant experience and/or qualifications, bank loans can often be made to purchase the essential items like car movers, vehicle lifts, air compressors, tyre balancing equipment, fluid containers, spanners, diagnostic tools and possibly even welding equipment.
